He came into the Tavern late one night, the Pirate Assasin guy, Lord Starshade "Can I get'cha a pint?" Lady Mel asked, already grabbing a mug and coughing a bit as she bent to grab it "And can you turn down the 'awesome aura' thing? It really bugs the sinuses, you know?"

Starshade gave a sly smile and leaned on the counter.
"Sorry," he mumbled and tipped his hat. "My apologies. And sure, a pint would be smashing." He flashed his most dissembling grin. "Extra rum please."

Oh, jeez, one of them, Mel thought, pouring a generous mug of foam and ale into the wooden mug. That being done she filled two little shot glasses with her thickest, heaviest rum, the kind that sane folk would water down. But late night people usually got the best drinks in the house or at least ordered them and she needed to finish off this bottle anyway, it was getting a bit old. At least with a pirate in the house paying for the best of booze she could get fresher stuff

Taking a sip of the ale, Starshade peered over the top of the mug at the tavern. He put it down and held one of the shots glass aloft.
"It's a nice place you have here," he said. He took the shot and put it back on the counter. After a small pause he added "good rum too. I wish I'd had some of this on my ship."

"Aww, thanks. I try n' get the best for this ol' place" Mel was still holding the glass bottle in her hand, swirling what was left of the thick, sticky liquid. Oh well, not enough for a shot anyways she thought, tilting the bottle to her lips and finishing off the burning, viscous drink, looking around her Tavern It wasn't new, that's for sure, the green-painted wooden wall panels faded with age. The dark wood floors were worn here and there below the bar stools and tables, light starbusts of worn finish detailing just how much use the old place got in 'er. The counter itself was worn and used too, names and people carved into its surface along with the dips and dents caused by all the barfights that it'd seen. Yes, the Nightmask wasn't new any more, but it was beautiful to her. This was Lady Mel's tavern

Starshade followed Lady Mel's eyes to the counter. He traced the word "Bob" someone had etched in with a slender finger. "It has a certain... rustic feel I think. I like a place that is 'rough around the edges' so to speak. It means it gets used and ofcourse It only gets used if it's good." He looked up. "Right? I'm not going off on a tangent am I?" He smiled again. "I tend to do that too much."

Drunk she thought to herself, He is TOTALLY drunk "Right" she replied, "New and prissy places just make me sick, they're too nice" Mel shook her head. Actually, come to think of it, the ol' Tavern could use a touch-up, and green really wasn't her color
